Potency Company Limited was founded by Mr. Carlos Hung in 2000. Carlos Hung was one of several pioneering ¡°red capitalists¡± in China. In 1988, he launched a trading company importing electronic components which grew rapidly into a full scale electronic factory employing more than 400. During the early years of his business, Mr. Hung excelled in the manufacture of televisions and television games. This early success allowed Potency Company under Mr. Hung¡¯s leadership to diversify into a broader electronics market. Today, Potency Company serves as a leader in the development and manufacture of innovative electronic products. Several major products that Potency Company currently produces include an audio Koran, MP3 player, digital voice recorder, mini air purifier, telephone conversation recorder, and a smoke detector that guides inhabitants to safety. Potency Company has built an extensive network with many companies in developing and manufacturing new and innovative products. Products include, for example, medical related, PDAs, and electronic pet toys. Potency Company assists clients from around the world in bringing their ideas to the market place. In 2003, Potency Company signed an agreement with the Lyles Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at California State University, Fresno to offer assistance to young entrepreneurs in the United States as well as business people who are seeking to develop and manufacture their products in China.
